It’s scarily common to see how mothers in executive roles can find no other place to cut corners so they cut corners with themselves.

Please don’t do this.  It’s the same as attempting to run the marathon with no trainers on and telling yourself you’ll get round to it after you’ve finished the race.

Self-care is essential for maintaining your health and happiness, both personally and professionally.

Here are some reasons why self-care is important for working mothers:

  1. Reduces stress: Regular self-care activities can help reduce stress levels and prevent burnout.
  2. Increases productivity: When you take care of yourself, you’re able to perform better at work and be more productive.
  3. Improves relationships: Taking time for yourself can improve your relationships with your family and colleagues, as you’ll be more relaxed and better able to handle stress.
  4. Boosts mood: Engaging in self-care activities can help boost your mood and improve your overall sense of well-being.

So, what can you do to prioritise self-care as a working mother? Start by incorporating activities that you enjoy, such as exercise, reading, or spending time in nature. You could also set aside a designated self-care day each week to focus on your well-being.

Remember, self-care is not selfish – it’s a necessary component of a healthy and fulfilling life. So, don’t hesitate to prioritise yourself and your well-being as a working mother.
