A Mother of Abundance needs to be well hydrated throughout the day.  To keep on top of this, your challenge on day 7 of the 28 Days of Abundant Practice Challenge is to drink 6-8 cups/glasses of fluids each day.

Notice I say “fluids” rather than “water”.  There’s a reason for this which I’ll go into below, but I’m not dismissing water entirely.  There are too many benefits of drinking water to list here in full, but here are my top five:

  1. Flushes body waste
  2. Helps keep the mind sharp
  3. Lubricates joints
  4. Delivers nutrients throughout the body
  5. Makes minerals and nutrients accessible

According to Medical News Today, women should aim for 2.7 litres/91oz of fluids.  80% of that will come from drinks including (but not exclusively) water, and the rest will come from food.

To get my water intake, I drink 800ml of water first thing in the morning and 800ml in the late evening.  Throughout the day, I drink a 500ml Miu Color* bottle of herbal tea or a 600ml Yerba Water bottle filled with loose herbal tea (normally yerba).  At the moment, I put two bags of green tea and two bags of peppermint tea into the Miu* and just top that up through the day without changing the bags – it’s lovely!!!  I refill after first of all finishing the bottle.  I have about three of those throughout my working day.

All non-alcoholic drinks count towards your fluid intake, but that doesn’t mean they’re all created equal.  Go for non-sugary drinks.  Add more water to your smoothies, go towards herbal teas and away from tea/coffee with cows milk and sugar.  Go for fortified plant-based milk (we like Oatly Barista in our black tea) instead of cows milk because it’s less mucus forming.

This is your challenge for today – will it be easy, or hard for you?  Do you already drink your full quota, or do you find this a struggle?  Let us know how you get on below.
